Privacy
Custody Compass is a private record for one account. Another person sees something only when you create a link. Nothing is posted to a shared feed.
Your login (email and password hash) is stored apart from your messages, orders, and locations. The database role that reads your schedule cannot read password hashes, and the login role cannot read your messages.
Messages you import are kept as imported. The app does not rewrite the other parent’s words, hide them, or put a tone score into the evidence report. A tone note on your screen is computed for you and is not saved into the message.
Location is read only when you tap Check in, or when you turn on a live link and leave that page open. There is no background tracking in this web app. The server writes its own clock time; the phone’s clock is stored beside it and cannot replace it. A check-in or live link is shared only if you create that link, and you can revoke it. The free co-parent schedule link does not include your GPS. The exchange address stays off that link unless you opt in, because an address can be sensitive.
We do not send coordinates to a geocoding company. Maps are an OpenStreetMap embed of the coordinates already on the record.
If an AI key is configured on the server, the order text and a message you paste into the reply coach can be sent to that model for a suggestion. Without a key, nothing is sent. Suggestions are not written into the log or the report.
You can download a JSON export of your record at any time, at no charge, and you can delete the account. Deletion removes your schedule, messages, orders, check-ins, and login.
This app is not OurFamilyWizard, TalkingParents, or AppClose. If a court ordered one of those, keep using it for the communication the order requires.
Custody Compass is a personal record-keeping tool. It is not a law firm, not a lawyer, and not legal advice. Confirm every date against your signed order and a lawyer if you need advice.
